Today's meeting June 10th 2008

Hi All,

We had a very productive, exhilarating meeting this morning! We had 11 members present, 2 speeches, 3 Table Topics and we were done by 7:45!

Meredith gave an awesome speech about the organization, Women for Women. Her Powerpont presentation was great. Ali’s speech on presenting an award was entertaining, interesting and inspiring.

Our Toastmaster, Pat, ran a well-organized, efficient meeting. Her pre-planning was key. Her filler facts about our great State of NC were very entertaining.

Pat did a nice job as IM as well. Gini was our TK and gave both a nice intro and a good report at the end of our meeting.

Harry’s joke was very funny, and as Brian B. said, somewhat subtle.

Steve B.’s TT session was very well done. Our respondents, Marilyn, Dawn and Shawn, were at the top of their game.

Our speech evaluators, Dawn, who evaluated Ali, and Harry, who evaluated Meredith, did well and mentioned both glows and grows in their evaluations.

Our AC and GR, Marilyn and Shawn, respectively, gave good, albeit short, reports.

Brian B.’s general evaluation was quite detailed and helpful to all of us.

Shawn counted the votes very efficiently, despite one or two late votes.

As I mentioned at the start of today’s meeting, thanks to Brian B., Pat and Steve B. for agreeing to be officers next year. Brian will be our President, Pat will be our Treasurer and Steve will be our Sergeant-at-Arms.

Congratulations to our winners today, Meredith for Best Speaker, Dawn for Best Table Topics and Brian Bothe, for Best Evaluator.

We have a fine slate of dedicated, very competent Toastmasters and leaders who will do well as our exec team next year. Thanks to all seven of them for being willing to step up and lead our club. I stand ready to support you and help you in any way I can. I assure you that you will enjoy the experience.

As a reminder, Our Toastmaster next week is Brian B. Our GE is Steve L. Our speakers are Meredith, Susan and Marilyn.

Best regards until next week.

Ed McGowan
